How Secaro handles your data under India’s Digital Personal Data Protection (DPDP) Act. Signed-in students can manage everything from their Privacy Center.
What we collect
Your college email and name (via institutional sign-in), the branch/semester/interests you share at onboarding, and a verifiable record of your campus activity — events you register for and attend, credentials issued to you, and club roles you hold.
Why we collect it
To build your Verified Portfolio and Skill Graph, to personalise your Opportunity feed, and to give your college accreditation-grade participation data. We do not sell your data.
Tenant isolation
Every record is scoped to your college (tenant) and enforced at the database with Row-Level Security. No college — and no recruiter — can read another college’s data.
Recruiter visibility
Recruiters only see you if you opt in from your Privacy Center, and only your verified, non-hidden achievements. You control this at any time.
Your rights (DPDP)
You can access, correct, and export your data, hide items from your public portfolio, and request deletion. Manage these from your Privacy Center; deletion removes your personal data while preserving anonymised aggregate counts your college needs.
Retention
Your record is retained while your account is active and for the period your college requires for accreditation. On deletion, personal identifiers are removed.
